This home has been extensively extended and renovated to suit the needs of a young, growing family. Husband and wife are both professionals and they have two sets of young twins. With four children under the age of 8, they needed a home that would be resilient and provide a nurturing backdrop to family life. There is an underlying sophistication but this is first and foremost a family home, resonating with a youthful vitality and a sense of the lighthearted that reflects the personality and heritage of the family that live within.
This was a renovation of an existing older building and a key design challenge for us was the multitude of low hanging structural beams that were inconveniently peppered throughout the home. In order to maximize ceiling height we have integrated theses beams into elaborate ceiling details, essentially making these nuisances a key part of the design. Every element of this home has been carefully considered from the ceilings and floor patterns to the crisp architectural mouldings as well as the bespoke furnishings, rugs and lighting pieces to ensure a thoroughly cohesive look that resonates with a crisp, glamour and is as hardwearing as it is stylish.
We are particularly proud of how we have integrated the husband’s extensive art and antique collection within the crisp, glamorous aesthetic that the wife was looking to achieve.
